Question Tax-Exempt Status
Please print, sign and mail!

The attached document is a real printable government complaint form to hold the Mormon Church and religious groups accountable for the smear and lies they spread in California on Prop8. They came in 2nd only to the presidential funding!! This is a form to question their tax-exempt status with the IRS. Let's see that the IRS gets so many complaints they can't ignore us.

Welcome To Vallejo Gay Network (VGN) Minimize
About the Vallejo Gay Network

Vallejo Gay Network is a group of Lesbian, Bisexual, Gay, Transsexual, Questioning and Gay Friendly folks who gather monthly for social interaction and support.

The organization began in Vallejo in 1998 as a small group of friends who gathered occasionally for dining or a movie and has grown to what it is today.  Our current membership has grown to over 400 people and includes members primarily from Solano county but surrounding counties as well.  Our monthly gatherings, usually a member hosted pot luck, are attended by as few as 10 to as many as 100 guests.  There are other group wide organized events and many smaller special interest events.

Our group has purposely remained a "social organization".  We do not endorse any political  agenda or candidate or have any special cause.  But it is California so, yes, our members are involved in many activist groups along with other arts and social organizations.

The Vallejo LGTBQ community is active in every aspect of Vallejo life and serves and participates on boards and in organizations from the Vallejo Symphony to the Humane Society.

Our website provides links to many LGTBQ organizations in the Bay Area.  It is also a center of information for our members and gives them a forum to relay their individual business or social interests.  If you would like to become a member please register.  This will give you access to our events calendar, news articles and member classifieds.

 From the Community Minimize
Donation Request for Solano Pride Center

Dear Solano Pride Center Supporter,

What a rollercoaster-ride of a year this has been so far! Between the election of Barack Obama for President and the passing of Prop 8, many of us are quite worn out emotionally, physically, and financially. On top of that, it is even more troubling that Solano County was the only county in the Bay Area that voted to pass Prop 8, despite a major effort within our community to persuade voters to defeat it.

Now is the time for us to look ahead!

Now is the time to keep our community proud and visible!

Now is the time for you to guarantee the continued service of the Solano Pride Center!

In these hard economic times, the Solano Pride Center has been competing with many other organizations and political causes for your financial support, and we realize how important it was for you to focus on those causes. Now that the election is over, we ask that your focus shifts to the long-term needs of LGBTQI people living in our county.

The Solano Pride Center currently does not have enough funds to meet its current financial obligations at the end of November and beyond. We are also in the process of implementing desperately needed programs to specifically serve youth and transgender members of our community. These new programs require additional monthly funding that we currently cannot afford. Please help keep our doors open and allow us the opportunity to better serve those whose needs are not currently being addressed by making a donation today.

Any amount you can donate is greatly appreciated and will help us immensely.

...
Although one-time donations are greatly welcomed and appreciated, we encourage you to set up a recurring monthly contribution so that there is continuous funding to pay our ongoing expenses. We need to raise at least $1,000 a month. That translates to 100 people committing to pledge $10 each month, or 50 people committing to pledge $20 a month. We have made donating easy for you by creating an online method to do so through our Web site at www.solanopride.org. If you prefer to send us a donation check, please make it payable to the Solano Pride Center and send it to:

Solano Pride Center
Attention: Sandy Stelter
1125 Missouri Street, Suite 203D
Fairfield, CA 94533

We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, so all donations are completely tax deductible.

Lastly, we strongly encourage you to participate in Solano Pride Center programs and activities. Along with our ongoing weeknight groups held at the Center’s office, we have a social gathering every third Wednesday of the month, from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM, at Round Table Pizza at 2401 Waterman Boulevard in Fairfield. We are also planning a workshop series beginning in January dealing with various forms of stereotyping. For updates on the workshop series and any other events, visit our Web site at www.solanopride.org.

Thank you so much for your continued support of the Solano Pride Center. We strive to provide, promote, and support services that foster the wellbeing of our Solano County family.
Sincerely,
David Trutanich, Chair
Donna Harris, Secretary
Sandy Stelter, Treasurer
Kody Meginnes, Member at Large (Past Chair)
